Graphics Bug in Current Trunk? [solved]

Hi!

After following the build instructions from http://supertuxkart.sourceforge.net/Build_STK_on_Linux I could successfully compile STK on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a Lenovo Thinkpad T430 from 2012.
When trying to play STK, some parts of the screen and some textures are just white. Here the textures of Beastie are white instead of red and some textrue's of the kart are white.

When playing ,the scene at the player's kart position is white.

Do you have any clue what went wrong?

Try disabling texture compression in the settings.
See: https://github.com/supertuxkart/stk-code/issues/1314

I've added this problem to the FAQ on the website. I would have totally forgotten that without this thread...

I know this is not the subject but what do weight concretely mean while playing.
I understand speed
Power == Acceleration
Weight == ?

Weight means something in MK games because it have a real impact with collisions but what about STK ? (the last time i tried to install stk on linux i failed because i had some problems so i can't see by myself)

Well, it should mean the same, but how much of a difference you can feel ... I am not sure. The work was done during GSoC, and we planned to add more (e.g. stronger impulse in case of collision with a heavier kart), but we never received any feedback from anyone, and by now the student is basically gone.

So - any feedback welcome, though it's unlikely that we will do much before the next release tbh (at least the beta).

Cheers,
Joerg
