I have an idea for an optional continuation of the story mode.
I have seen that SuperTuxKart has introduced a 4th difficulty: SuperTux. I like it, it is really much more difficult.
I would like it if the story mode would somehow incorporate the 4th difficulty. But I think since this is only reserved for the pros, here’s my idea:
After Nolok was defeated in Fort Magma, the story ends normally. But the story mode now unlocks the SuperTux difficulty for all challenges on the map. This is intended for an optional extra challenge for the pros. Basically it is just the AI which is more difficult, but the victory conditions may also be harsher, but this depends on the challenge.
Winning a challenge in SuperTux difficulty gives a diamond cup and more score than a gold cup, obviously. The intent is to push players to their limits.
I picked diamond, because I guess it would be easier to distinguish from the other cups. Platinum would be hard to distinguish from silver, for example.
My second idea is to add a last, ultimate challenge on the map which gets unlocked when a score of the equivalent of (number of all other challenges)*10 (gold) has been achieved. With 24 challenges, this translates to a score of 24×10 = 240. So if one has gold or better in all other challenges, the ultimate challenge gets unlocked for sure.
This last challenge is the “All Tracks” grand prix with 15 AI karts (at least in SuperTux difficulty). Why 15? Because there are 16 different karts in the main game, and this challenge would represent all karts.
I intend this challenge to be extreme, because it is the ultimate challenge.
As I said, all these diamond cups are entirely optional and are only there for the STK pros and completionists.
What do you think of this idea (!)?
